I asked Spirit to show me what was blocking my answers to some prayers I had, some desires I wanted to fulfill and experience. The answer came in the first verse of Erykah Badu’s song, Bag Lady.Bag lady you gone hurt your back,
Dragging all those bags like that
I guess no body ever told you
All you must hold onto
Is you, is you, is you
What were the bags I kept dragging around and used to block me from experiencing the richness of life? With this question came an immediate image in my mind. It was a picture of me just being weighed down with tons of bags (old decisions, judgments, regrets and choices) and me dragging them everywhere I went. My past was always intruding on my present.
My prayers were being answered. I just wasn’t allowing myself to receive the gifts. All those bags of regrets were in the way. It was time to let them go, throw them away, and stop dragging them along with me. In other words, it was time to forgive and be free.
